Lyrics

A strong wind blew in from the west
And so I headed east
Drew my blade and I carved out my feast
And then I built high fences and I dug deep trenches
Bled myself until it dulled my senses
But then the earth trembled and I trembled with it
I felt powerless as plates beneath me shifted
And I was calling out your name as my roots uplifted
And from all that I've known in this world I was sifted
And everything came out that was trapped inside
And I swear to god I never felt so alive

It took all I had but I headed west
I pushed on till I had nothing left
Just this blood in my veins and this heart in my chest
And then I was surrounded by a nothingness
My wounds healed and the air lay still
And a melody went through me with that good chill
With a high high and lows that shake me still
Rising up from deep inside this void I fill
I felt every cell in my body multiply
And I swear to god I never felt so alive

I burned all I owned and I headed south
I went to far into find my way out
And I was running on faith and then I was running on doubt
I wanted water as thirst filled my mouth
And then I was surrounded by a drunken sea
I never been so scared I never felt so free
And I've been searching for who am I supposed to be
who am I supposed to be who am I supposed to be
I came for truth but all I found was me
I fell to my knees and then I laughed till I cried
And I swear to god I never felt so alive
